MARCY Mayhem & TOOCOOL Tales (middle primary)

3 hrs with Phil & Susan

Comprising story reading as well as quiz and word activity. Students are then split into two groups (either mixed or gender specific). Each group works on a new end to the same story. Workshop concludes with review of new endings and presentation of quiz prizes.

PSH

3 hr writing workshop with Phil (or Phil & Susan)

Plan, character creation, idea reflection, story writing & review. Phil & Susan will run this workshop jointly if you wish to split boys and girls for 1 hr gender specific/gender friendly character creation and idea reflection.

PSD

full day writing workshop with Phil (or Phil & Susan)

Introductory story & mapping exercise, plan, character creation, idea reflection, story writing, idea exchange in small groups, return to writing, story reading, peer review and author comments. Phil & Susan will run this workshop jointly if you wish to split boys and girls for 1 hr gender specific/gender friendly character creation and idea reflection. Later Susan works with the boys, and Phil works with the girls, to do peer reviews. All other components are run with full class.
